The good Dr. and Hands off..

and Ax all gave a great descriptions of the differences. Management due to a lack of understanding confuse the two. The problem, if there is one, is hiring someone who's not familiar enough with a business and feeds off the staff. That in turn unsets staff who are getting a lot less in salary to do the same. I've seen it time and again throughout 32 years in IT. Not to upset project mgmt. people, but there the biggest offenders. Most are totally clueless. But they have what I don't, a degree so that makes 'em special. Always forward, never straight.
