Same actually goes for contractors as well. If you take care of your customers, even if it costs you the occasional job because it's not in the customer's real interest, then your customers will take care of you.

If, on the other hand, you're simply treating your customers as cash cows, to be milked for every last penny, then don't be surprised if your customers wise up.
