as long as there are computers
this will never happen, unless IT staffing is around 2 1/4 to 3 times what it is today. You have your headaches - Microsoft doesn't like Macs on the network, Linux and AS/400 machines don't like talking to either of them, your Blackberry has that chance of taking a giant dump on you because your boss has an iPaq smartphone and his boss has an iPhone, your 5 SQL databases running on ultra high-end supercomputers or cluster servers need to be rebuilt and backed up on a every-other-night basis, and don't forget about that stack of desktops 5 towers high, 15 towers wide, and 20 towers deep that need various things upgraded and replaced (and a complete reimage while you're at it)...

Disclaimer - this doesn't matter with what platform you run. While some machines and OSes are worse than others, computers are all basically the same thing, and either work or don't. I don't care if it's Compaq, Dell, Apple, Sun, Boxx, SGI, Lenovo/IBM, Panasonic, whatever. That's life.
