We just started CEO coaching addressing this..
In my many years as Management & Security Consultant I've often identified CEO level issues as root cause, but it has to be recognised that CEOs are short of good, unbiased sources of information.

Few MBA programmes give a decent structural and functional understanding of IT and security strategy/use/culture, tech companies use incomprehensible and unnecessary jargon to sell their wares and some consulting companies rather keep their client unaware to maintain a dependency.

So, we decided to do things differently: (1) We solely employ senior, experienced people who know what business management is like and speak a language the CEO (and CTO/CIO) will understand. (2) We actively educate and coach our clients, our half day seminar will be marketed in London as of next month and the one-to-one coaching sessions are under development (as is our website happy. (3) We support our clients post coaching - they will have a number they can call so they're not left to swim on their own.

I'll let you know how we get on at houppermans.com happy.
