Exactly. Where I work, we have used VMWare heavily for virtualization. All the VMWare instances are in the datacenter, and so they are locked down, because The Datacenter Must Be Locked Down. So we can't do anything useful with them because the sys admins refuse to give access.

So we're getting extra boxes to put in our cubicles to replace the VMWare instances that are useless to us. Seems silly, I know, but that's politics.
