If by Omish, you mean Amish...
The Amish are a particularly strict implementation of Anabaptist movement. They do not completely eschew technology. They use technology where it increases community, family, and identity and oes not disturb the social order. You will find Amish products available for sale online. You will find them using artificial fertilizer in their fields. You will find them using personal computers to track grain sales in the mill. You will not find them with electrical outlets from PGE, but you will find them with solar panels on their roofs!

Of course, the Ordnung (rules of observance) vary from sept to sept with some being stricter than others, but in the mein the rules are practical:

And of course there is controversy. What technologies will the elders approve?

Now mind, all of the foregoing really supports your argument, if your argument is for the careful evaluation of technology against spiritual and community needs. However, if your argument is that there is a commuinity of Luddites whom have done just-fine-thank-you-very-much, then I suggest you continue watching "Witness" and basking in Hollywood's ignorance of the Amish (even in the late 80s).

PS - I have no religious affiliation with the Amish, but grew up in the Lancaster area. These people were my friends and neighbours.
