RE: "Dr. Jekyll...beware"
Personally speaking, we would of had to eventually evolve technology into biotechnology and other such sort of things anyhow. The Omish still don't use technology at all and they live adecent life, but with the exception of nothing inthe way of good health care and many other things that we consider nessacary for day by day living, to them those are luxury's still.

My point is, yes i believe in and don't believe in genetics. Yes i believe in genectics for things like power sources, but no i don't believe in genetics for playing god (IE: Best movie example, Seventh Day, Starring Arnold himself and himself).

The thing people have ot understand, making a bio-energy plant is good and bad, if the raw material gets exposed to the enviroment it could have permant effect, but that's the same if a nuclear plant exposed the immediate to a mass amount of radiation. The point is, we still have to be careful no matter what enegry source we are using.

But, what i would prefer is having more choices for enegry sources, just like you have choices for cell phone providers, phone providers, TV providers and so forth. You have electricity which isn't a choice, but heating is a choice of gas, electric and propane. Again, choices still would benefit the world and population as a whole much better then not having choices

""This is mad science. At least, I think we need to be really careful about the things we try, and the things we build. Something about these types of applications of science makes me more than a little nervous. There's too much potential for unintended side effects or runaway organisms. The Blob could be very real one of these days. I'm not joking or being alarmist here - we need to really think about whether we should even be trying some of these things. And by the way, what pending energy crisis? We may be OPEC-dependent for oil at the moment, but we could change that if we really desired. With nuclear, solar, wind & hydro power, plus ethanol from corn, there's really no validity to the term "pending energy crisis". Someone needs to make the situation sound more desperate than it is in order to get funding for his research, it seems.""
