Real Problem?
I really don't think the true problems were addressed in this article. Several people I know in the industry were let go because they were getting paid what they were worth. So they were either replaced by someone who knew 1/10th of their knowledge but could be employed for half their salary or their work was shuffled onto someone else who's hungry and unknowingly will end up becoming that person being replaced in X years. The article also didn't mention the other hidden costs of losing I.T. employees due to necessary security changes, business knowledge and re-staffing costs.
