How many unpaid hours do they work?
I expect it is larger than this, but I have always found these surveys somewhat questionable as few have any idea on how much of their time is spent on what without prospectively monitoring it. It is likely not wasted by the most valued employees as they are learning about their field, industry, and company, but is likely mostly wasted by the least valuable that wait to be told what to do. The irony is companies don't want their employees to be creative. They want to hire someone that can be told what to do, already knows how to do it, that does it, and then can be laid off until the next project comes along. They would prefer to automate their employees out of existence.
