- Jim's rule....
-
Everything yes even life can be looked upon as a game. As a
general rule NEVER play a game you can not hope to win. If you
happen to find yourself in a game where the rules are such that
you can not hope to win (Oh say like life) then feel free to
CHEAT!!!
I work because unlike the healthy I have not choice what so ever
(I think I might have made a fantasic hobo if only I were not
diabetic since the age of 6) So work for me is not so much a
choice I made so that I can gather and accumulate "stuff" no it's
simply a matter of life and death. So while I do have the "if you
don't do as we say you are going to die" gun held to my head
day in and day out....still that does tend to get old after 42 years
and I find myself with an extremely cavalier attitude twoards
work and my employer.
My employer and the employers I have had in the past look at
me and my efforts and a necessary evil. They do not like the
fact that I am on their payroll and if they could find a way to
eliminate my position to save money...they would in a heart
beat. It's that simple.....I am an expense that if I could be
replaced or my job shipped to another cheaper place it woud
and probably someday will be. My employer and yours did not
form a business out of charity or a desire to give people work
but rather out of some self serving desire to reap huge rewards
and perhaps a desire to have power and influence and things
like that...that I simply can not relate to, but still there it
is...business's were not started to give us work...we work
because there is no better way (yet) for the owners of said to
generate revenue. As soon as they figure a way around our
services they will the very second they puzzle it out. So I have
no loyalty or real desire to please my employers...they are far
more like the gun held firmly against my temple then a friend or
ally.
