I would prefer
a hydrogen/electric myself... sure they are out there, but they are priced out of the reach of most drivers and the tech is still clunky... thanks to the oil moguls. Rat b@stards!

Anyhow, I will stick with fat client at home. Work, I don't care, not my systems not my problem. Home, my systems AND my data.

DonnieBoy sometimes you have some good posts but this time you are off base.

I don't drink soda, I do suggest design changes to a variety of forms of transport (because I can...) I do have a generator for when PG&E drops the load, or they start the rolling blackout crap again (although ever since Enron got hammered, I haven't seen or or of those for a while...) or if PG&E starts to hike rates, I have solar as well. It's called being prepared to take care of yours and yourself.

Bottom line this would be fine for a corporation, but for home users? Especially those of use that refuse to use Microsoft... why? Why allow our data to be rented? Why pay another damn utility bill? It makes no logical sense!

I buy the hardware, I buy (or download pending my mood) the software / OS (Linux of course) and I own all aspects of my data. I have access to it when and where I need it. Not when some corporation says I can!

Will computing flow like electricity?  Loverock Davidson | 06/17/05
How about debating this. If it happens, Microsoft is in trouble.  DonnieBoy | 06/17/05
To be honest  Loverock Davidson | 06/17/05

Electricity is reliable enough for 99.9% of applications.  DonnieBoy | 06/18/05
Not really  osreinstall | 06/18/05
Customers will store their data where it is safe, at a trusted ISP.  DonnieBoy | 06/18/05

ISPs that do not take care of your data will go out of business, FAST.  DonnieBoy | 06/19/05
They don't take care of the data now.  osreinstall | 06/19/05
No, centralized computing is on the rise. Have you used Webmail??  DonnieBoy | 06/18/05
