No, data security will be the reason to use hosted applications.
A lot of small to mid size businesses can NOT afford people that know how to secure computers. These companies need to get data off of desktops and laptops and onto secure servers that are professionally managed. Most of the data theft you hears about is some bozo that had the data on a laptop or desktop. Yes, people can still have standard desktops and laptops, but there will be no sensitive data stored locally. Desktops and laptops will have cashed data that is not the most sensitive, but still encrypted.
