Which is better managed?
Linux can easily be managed by the masses. The whole idea is to have one unique kernel and to use the tools accross many boxes. Some have their quirks, but they are pretty similar, or they can be adapted to be made similar.

Ballmer and Taylor are just trying to add a GUI front end to something that doesn't require it so those mundanes can be easily amused with pictures. How yummie.

Truth is Linux is a better server than windows, Hands down. FreeBSD definitely is a more solid server, but right now Linux has more going for it.
