I'm looking down the road, and it's bleak...

...certainly doesn't look rosey to me right now.
The US was probably at it's recent greatest, in the 90's. The budget was balanced; prosperity was growing; the government answered to he people.
Now it's like LOCK DOWN time.

The "Homeland Security" scares more people than the terrorists do (So what DO you do when the alert status is orange?! especially when they don't tell you why)
Jobs are barely crawling upward from our recession, if going up at all.
Oil prices are at an all time high
(and what I find scary is :
a)people don't seen to care that much
b) a lot of the current administration comes from the oil industry)
Social Security is up in the air about what to do.
Prices for everything are going up:
Housing prices up 18% per year. Hey, that's okay for some, but what about the younger people. My parents paid 55$ grand for a house 20 years ago, and that same house is easily over $300k.
I could go on, but I just don't see a quick turn around.
Dont' even start me on drugs, and health care.
