Outsourcing all things is a major disaster
I will admit that you can off-load pieces of your business for rather short term projects or so you can focus on other areas but to do it all would literally kill your company. The management of most larger organizations have no idea of what the challenge a vendor or what impact a decission can cause.

An outsourcer has no idea of your business nor do they really care to know it. Your right, many companies are outsoucing more but many of them are failing more than ever. People writing articles about this tend to forget a large factor of an internal employee vs a consultant, a consultant has no emotional tie to the company and tends to have less commitment and drive to make your business succeed.

Outsourcing can be good but don't base your company's future on it...
