Really tired of these CNET stories
The fact that CNET is covering them fans the flames of a rather insignificant fire.... oh, something akin to a sparrow fart.

This may be a commentary but CNET's editors ultimately get to pick what goes up (I would hope).

You can throw this in with the "Can Johnny program?" stories.

They just seem like a waste of bandwidth with no basis on reality.

Frankly I think there will only be two pockets of software development - 1) Established commercial companies 2) Open source projects.

The Indian community (as in Asia) has shown very little creativity on either front. This is where the US and the world at large excel. Indians largely have struck me as very smart on a mechanical level but incredibly uncreative. Yes, there are exceptions as in all examples in life but if you look at the fact that the explosion in IT in India is largely dominated by IT sweat shops servicing US companies trying to cut costs, that's something way less interesting to let's say an average guy who uses a desktop computer (GUI OS), photo management software (because he's been taking pics of his kids) then using his browser (FireFox) to post them online for relatives to see.

I don't see India in this picture at all... or China.

Drop the noise CNET, you're wasting my bandwidth.
