What the CRIA wants versus what they'll really get
Just as a counterpoint to the CRIA's fraudulent complaints, one should read this, which debunks pretty much everything they have said:

Personally, I think the CRIA would be incredibly stupid to try to change things. Right now, they've got a huge amount of guaranteed income from the levy on blank media, $30 million plus per year. So far, they've kept every penny of it, and given none to the artists. If they ban p2p downloads, they'll also lose that levy. As has been shown in the US, downloaders will continue to download, and the CRIA will be out $30 million with nothing to show for it.
