If you say it is sound then answer the question why the patents overlap and define principles of former inventions?
Example? Here you go: review a few compression patents and see documents of Huffman coding principles based on probability. What MP3, OGG, what else? The algorithm has been used long before those protocols and it was taught in universities. Invented what... circa 1953?
