And we know what's happening there, too.

The problem is the advantage of large scale against small scale, if only because of the resources available for other purposes, like persuading government.

Remember, Microsoft had only a part-time lobbyist in Washington until the anti-trust case. And they weren't too interested in accumulating patents. Now they know what they have to do to defend themselves.
And I think this interest in patent reform is actually more self-defense on their part.
