Patent Clerks Not Greedy

The "morons in the US Patent office" may be "incompetent", but if they were "greedy" they would have other jobs. In general a patent clerk does not make a whole lot of money (though, to be fair, you called them "greedy morons" -- which may be true ... to stupid to know that being a patent clerk isn't the way to make money).

That said, throwing the baby out with the bath water isn't the answer. Forcing the patent applicant to show that the patent is both innovative and advanced/not-straightfoward seems like a very reasonable cure. Of course, you will have to hire non morons at the patent office.
