What if (ha ha) Bill Gates had the bright idea to do a music store online, a really cool digital music player and a contract with all of the major labels. Lets see, tracks would be $3.00 each to start off with. Then the price would increase for all tracks about fifty cents a year. Then piracy would be just as big as before instead of it decreasing slightly like it has. Since the online sales have finally taken off then I think the proper response from the record companies should be "Thank you Mr. Jobs for saving our industry." Since it is in Apple's interest for the store to work, the customers are protected with user freindly DRM and reasonable prices.
