IBM was a 800 lb gorilla from the past. They are an ally of the little guy because it is convient right now. I would trust MS over IBM, but only a little. I believe IBM is like having Stalin for an ally. They will turn on you when the time is right. Better companies to trust would be Linksys, 3com, Netgear and other smaller companies without the baggage.
