Didn't I pay for that bandwidth?
Bandwidth is paid for at the point of origin. What the ISPs are complaining about is that I am actually using the bandwidth I've paid for and they don't meter (actually, they do) rather than letting it go into their profits.

If I actually approach the usage they assign, I get bumped into a metered category anyway.

I don't use VOIP simply because the timelag in a trans-atlantic call get's really confusing!
