no not 'liberating' this sounds like a euphamism for theft
nothing is being taken from the authors.
No one is stealing their work. Other authors are gifting (or
gifting in exchange for money) their copyright work to a
collective work.
The market value of the software items is reducing. If a business
model of a bunch of professional coders selling a piece of
software for a lot of money can't compete with a bunch of guys
gifting collective work, then, I'm sorry, the business model is
unworkable, and the professional coders should go find the
money somewhere else. It simply isn't a tenable position to say
"stop the guys gifting to a collective work".
After all, we're supposed to live in a free society.
