Re: Google "improvement" for Firefox
There's got to be a way to turn it off!

I'm kind of two minds with this. On the one hand it feels as obnoxious as Autolink. On the other hand, Google didn't put this feature into Firefox, Mozilla did. Google's just using it for marketing boost it thinks it can get from it. But since the first thing I did after reading the article is configure my FF browser to ignore the prefetch tags, I guess I don't like the idea of it.

But anyway, as it happens there is a way to turn it off in Firefox. It's described here. I do hope they make it part of the GUI so everyone who wants to can turn off this "feature" more easily.

One other point - probably not worth mentioning because if you're at the top of a Google search you probably have the pipes to support the bandwidth - there are instructions on the page to make your server ignore the tags, too.
