"The Constitution says nothing about this right being granted beyond the lifetime of the author or granting a right to sell or otherwise transfer this right to another person or entity."

But it doesn't say that the right CAN'T be extended as well. And the federal government is nothing if not quick to take advantage of loopholes and ambiguities in the Constitution.

"The Supreme Court was WRONG when it allowed the very ownership of a copyright to be transferred. It was again WRONG when it allowed the copyright to be extended in length beyond the life of the original author."

And the Supreme Court was WRONG when it extended the Bill of Rights to the States, as well. Being wrong has no bearing on the Supreme Court, as it has the final say (short of a Constitutional amendment). The courts have "discovered" many rights within the Constitution that were not explicitly placed there by the Founders. It's a bit late now to be complaining that the courts are legislating.
