How wrong they were
"In 1982, testifying in front of Congress before the Supreme Court had ruled, MPAA President Jack Valenti said, "I say to you that the VCR is to the American film producer and the American public as the Boston strangler is to the woman home alone."

How wrong could have this fool have been. Home rentals and sales of videos proved a big cash cow for these greedy hollywood types. Its funny how they are falling into the same old greed trap as before by being against new tech.
