- I agree, however. . .
-
I can't say that I totally agree with those wanting to 100% protect the P2P services. I think this is a perfect example of how companies could police themselves better and thus avoid some of the negative attention that they receive. I would agree, though, that RIAA would probably go after them no matter what, however, I wish they would care more about how their software is being used largely for illegal purposes. Working with technology companies to try and reduce that use of their software would go a long ways in my mind. But they don't care, in fact, they almost support this illegal use, because without it, they wouldn't have as many users. If people are doing illegal things, they should be stopped. NO IFS, ANDS, or BUTS!
Why is it that we can accept people stealing music and movies and yet have such a problem with people stealing money or physical objects? There should be a way of clearly identifying those committing a crime. The Internet has allowed thousands and perhaps millions of people to be criminals without worry of getting caught simply because they feel they have a right to be anonymous on the Internet. I say it's not a right, but a privilege to be on the net. Make criminals pay and the Internet will be a better place for it. - Posted by: openMind Posted on: 03/28/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
