I hate it when you hit the nail right on the head with a sledgehammer.

This law is not an equal application of the law. Why should bloggers and news sites be exempt? It would be wrong to exempt them anyway but why not them too?

This proposed legislation runs contrary to Jeffersons view.

Now to those that won't act. Sorry I called them sheep. That is calling them stupid and that is not right. Freudian slip ehhh?

I agree that the so called "debate" that encomapsses our papers and airwaves is reprehensible. The constant vitriole is ridiculous and I don't blame people from becoming numb. BUT, I believe it is each persons duty to remain informed and engaged. I don't think the general electorate should make polical observation their full time vocation but they must be cursory aware to separate fact from fiction and find both sides of the truth.

Up until the early 1960's most of the nation was engaged and active. The tide noticably changed during the VietNam era. People became tired and weary from the constant drum beat and adopted a "what is the use" attitude. Damn that is dangerous. It is the peoples voice that keeps the government in check. What has happened is that voice has been surrendered to the Limbaughs Air Americas, Hannities and Rathers out their.

I believe that it is the grass roots people like you, Jeff, Spoon, myself and others are being adversely affected by these campaign finance laws. Our voices are slowly being silenced. We have a greater affect on our peers, family and friends than the main media has. I shudder if that voice is lost, then then only those running mass media will have the voice.
