I'm not sure,

but I think that we weren't included because those laws don't, or shouldn't, apply to individuals to begin with. I also don't believe that we are limited in any way in our free speech. I don't think that we are limited in what we can spend on our free speech, even if it is about politics.

Look at all of the commercials and ads on tv and in the papers and on the internet about this last pres election. They certainly were all funded in large part by individuals. I think that the $1K limit is on contributions to a political party, not on what one can spend on their free speech. If that were true, how could we have spent so much on tv ads, for and against each candidate? Heck, George Soros spent something like $600 million himself, that we know of, and his political views are well known.

I guess I just don't see the same clamping down on individuals as you do, but then again what the heck do I know?
