I haven't read the article yet, but if this kind of idealism suffuses it, the argument will influence as many people in Washington as this post.
It's a lot easier to think of IP as a way to make money than it is to think of IP as a noble means of encouraging creativity.
Remember, the Senate includes an Honorable person who advocated giving content companies the right to destroy peoples' computers on suspicion of piracy, and without benefit of law. How much nicety does such a person use in considering the relative interests of profits and creativity?
