I think there were a number of ideas for that. In fact, there were even some fringe proposals for .gay, .lez, or something like that. I don't know how far that got. The fundamental problem was always that someone was going to have to come up with strict, well-defined standards for who would get .xxx'd and who was still ok. There were sure to be people griping either way... "My Naked Neptune Nurses is legitimate free speech, and your .xxx stigmatizes it!" If someone can come up with a definition for pornography that everyone can agree on, I'll give them a dollar. Hell, I'll give them 2 dollars. No one has succeeded yet.
