Not all ads become irrelevant when they cross boarders. The shows would still EVENTUALLY be played in, say, Australia - I even watch them again - besides there could be a country portal for each show - and they could stick relevant ads in. I just don't want to have to wait (in some cases) up to 5 years (or never) to see a TV show that I absolutely love. It's different with music - in that you can STILL PURCHASE the album pretty much the same time it is released. DVDs don't count - (firstly you could argue there are no ads on them either), but they are generally released several months to (in some cases of course) several decades after they first aired.

They can easily work around the TV thing. The only 'problem' is the inclusion of ads, and I'm sure business would jump to promote their product to a specific target audience ELECTRONICALLY.
