Emule is better with the cockroach effect. Any GPL P2P is good enough.
Kill one roach. Already laid 500 more eggs he he.. I prefere the download anytyhing you want Emule environment (legal, not legal, rare, popular) than the P2P emulation side of BitTorrent where it is mainstream copyrighted movies, big warez, and porn, although you will need more patience.


I do like bitTorrent. But its P2P-side won't last long, although non-hosting (both files and tracker-wise) linksites have a chance at a fight. Public BitTorrent trackers that only accept seeds but don't actually host any files are the equivilant of a donkey server (Minus Searching, Plus Traffic Management; Donkey Servers handle many more users for the hardware though), which is an equivilant of a dedicated/specialized Kazaa supernode.

Emule is the ultimiate cockroach network. All but hte most unwanted files stay up forever and forever. Plus it has both a servered netork (Edonkey) a Serverless network (KAD) and the purest simplest P2P - Source Exchange. Once all sourced up you can disconnect from ED2K and KAD and it will function fairly well for 12-36 hours on just client to client source exchanges (you will likely complete all of your >20 source files). Plus its GPLed and highly modded so even attacks on the developers have the cockroach effect. I wish Lugs would release his server sources.
