Bad analogy
As the war on drugs have shown us.

Simply it is true, you arrent 1 drug dealer and 3 take that one's place.

Drug dealing makes too much money. The profits far outwiegh the risks. The funny thing is if you legalize drugs and make it illegal for a drug dealer to sell on the street but available at the drug store you eliminate the money. This has many positive effects. First you removed the criminal element and make it not worth the risk to deal in drugs illegally. Next you can tax it to fund rehab programs and education. You also remove the gateway effect so less harsh drugs that kids try, like pot are not coming from a dealer that trys to sell them crack and heroine as well. Then there is the quality of the drug where pot is pot and not mixed with other more harmful drugs the user may not have intended to take.

The real question here is how full do you want the jails? 40% of the population or would you prefer 60% or even 80%?

When you corportions raking in the cash like the entertaiment industry does but crying about piracy it's little hard to take them seriously. They don't appear to even know what they are selling.
