I'd said I preferred IE's simplicity. You'd said FireFox was just as simple because all features were add-ons. Your assertion contradicted mine. You've used FireFox and I haven't, so I took your word.
But by successfully contradicting me, you disproved a supposed advantage of FireFox, not for me, but for other people.

If you're going to win one argument, make sure you don't lose something more important. Think of it as like Microsoft checking to make sure a patch for one problem doesn't create a larger one.

I'll leave you to argue with nucrash about what features are standard in a FireFox download. He asserts he knows more than either of us.

But if I ever wanted to prove my case that FireFox provides features which are not exactly universally necessary, look at your comments:

Can you highlight an un-hyperlinked url, drag it anywhere on a page and then have that url open in another tab? Can you open IE with 3 web pages as the 'home page'? Can you open up a CSS editor right in IE? Does IE come with a search sidebar which you can customize to use any engine? Can you hold down the right mouse button, scoot left, which will go back a page in your browser? Does IE have a colorpicker, where you can select any part of a webpage and you'll be informed exactly what color is being used, and be given its info (RBG, hex code, etc.)?

Mouse scooting to move back pages, waving an unhyperlinked url around a page to make it open, being told the coding for a color...
I know a number of people I would call ordinary users, I'm pleased to say, and not one of them has ever mentioned searching for any of these capabilities. In fact, I suspect they'd be disconcerted if they saw the browser behaving as you describe.
