Blatantly "innovating" Firefox's featureset into IE was inevitable
Of course it was only a matter of time before genuinely useful features like tabbed browsing were blatantly copied from Firefox and "innovated" into IE. Microsoft have a policy of "Innovation By Theft" (Burst.com, Stac) or "Innovation By Buying The Original Innovators" (IE, Hotmail, etc etc etc).

As long as IE and its unpatched vulnerabilities

are welded homogenously into the Windows OS, however, the Microsoft "innovation" of endless worms, virus and trojans will remain an IE only feature.
