Let's not kid ourselves, IE7 is a direct response to Firefox. ABMers can whine about how MS is leveraging it's market position, but at the end of the day, MS has ground (not to mention money) to lose if they don't stay competitive. Tabbed browsing, built-in RSS aggregators and mouse gestures are not the future of browsing, they're the NOW. Microsoft has to get on the bus or accept the fact that they're walking home. You can call the impetus behind the accelerated release of IE7 "shame avoidance", and I'll call it the intrinsic beauty of a competitive market. You say tomato...
