Okay, subordinate Microsoft to 90% of browsers...
... in use. They can't afford to ignore what almost every browser user in the world is doing, so they will have to be compliant.

And in return, the makers of the other browsers would also have to be supportive of what the world expects of a web browser. Only fair, right?


As mentioned, I looked at FireFox. Not that many differences from IE, and those there were I didn't want. I like the simplicity of IE and I've added the functions I thought were essential using free software. And security wasn't a problem, even before SP 2.
So I thought of FireFox as an uninteresting alternative to IE, harmless.
Then I found out about the Nokia deal, and became opposed to FireFox. Opera is a reasonable alternative to IE; FireFox is not. Should have remembered to prefer only companies that pay salaries in the first place.
