But the WHOLE POINT was to make a standards-compliant internet as a whole, and yet your first suggestion is to include a proprietary Microsoft technology.

Only a typical Microsoftian would consider getting Microsoft on to the same level playing field as "suborinating" it. Obviously by that comment you feel that asking Microsoft to be on par with everyone else would be the same as enslaving Microsoft to the industry.
