I might add
"To the Web community I want to say: Microsoft has now been challenged. They will respond, if enough people remind them of the challenge. Please remind them. And, when IE 7 is released, make sure this is the first thing you type into it:

http://webstandards.org/acid2."

And if IE7 passes the Acid2 test, be sure to recognize Microsoft's compliance. While MS should have been more compliant over the years, continuing to harp on past noncompliance won't solve anything. Positive reinforcement is the way to go; if Microsoft sees (and hears) how appreciative people are when it DOES comply with standards, future compliance will be that much more likely.

If MS makes the effort to improve its compliance only to be berated for not doing it sooner, it probably won't go to the trouble in the future. Why expend the effort if no one will appreciate it?
