Nothing new
This is not a new subject... Utility computing has been around for over 2 decades in many datacenters. Open Grid is just a redux of mainframe sysplex development/NJE-RJE development in the 80s and has a long long way to go. The big war going on right now is between UNIX, Windows and Linux. The IT flows like electricity bit, is not for the home user, but for the big corporations/ universities, many of whom have adopted/created their own open grid. This is nothing new or revolutionary.
