This has always been a bad...
...analogy, and it never gets better in the retelling. Electricity is power, and IT is not a bit like power. The need for power is ubiquitous, the need for IT info is strictly voluntary. And anyone that wants info can get a (cheapo pc, you can get a net-ready one in a thrift shop for $20) computer and get on line. These arrogant snitts who come up with this "i will dispense computing to you, for pay, and you will recieve it on a less than fully functional thingie, like the so called thin-clients we heard so much about but they were just another bad idea fallen by the wayside..
