Yes, there are problems; Semantic Web partly solves them
The introduction of OWL explanines:
Web Ontology Language is intended to be used when the information contained in documents needs to be processed by applications, as opposed to situations where the content only needs to be presented to humans. OWL can be used to explicitly represent the meaning of terms in vocabularies and the relationships between those terms.
Search is a good example where relationship of meaning between the query and the text selected matters most. Therefore, semantic tagging of the text directly or indirectly becomes nessary to put textual information to greater use without critical dependence on human help. Here the objective is not to eliminate human participation but to augment it with machine / programs capability.
If the present techniques are not satisfactory, it only points to the need to improve them, not give them up. Let?s discuss the shortcomings of the available Semantic Web facilities and work on solutions.
