Solution in search of a problem...
All this reminds me of how language developed.... Long long ago, before anyone could talk, in a cave somewhere, a bunch of futurists were siting around wondering what to do. Someone came up with the idea of developing a verbal language of sounds so everyone could communicate more easily. Over many moons and many arguments the protocol finally came to be. Soon therafter, the people were taught this new paradyme and lo and behold, all could speak their minds and share their feelings with
much ease and clarity. And when they left the cave and went out into the world, they became known to others as the "Great Ones" who had brought them a wonderful gift.

Some time later though, as the generations passed, it was forgotten by all how their ancestors had learned to speak, and the legacy of the Great Ones, and how language came to be, was lost forever.

I believe this story and believe the story above, too.
