I'm not saying that Apple
should do anything to allow people to get around anti-piracy efforts. I'm just trying to see what options there are, if any, to give the people their choice of DRM support. Different music portal companies use different DRM, and that's fine, except for the problem that most players only support one or the other. I just think it would be nice if a player could be updated to enable more than one type of legal DRM decryption. That way people can choose the store of their choice and not be limited based on the player they bought.

DRM in and of itself is a good thing, but it can be an awful thing if not implemented properly. I do believe there can be a DRM solution that can please BOTH the RIAA/MPAA and customers. The problem is that when one side gets too greedy, the other side overreacts (both sides have been guilty of both) and in the end neither side is happy.
