I believe it is owned by Lycos. What I like about the site is there are two choices for the search engine you want to use. One is Google and the other is Jeeves. The only problem with Jeeves is not having as good of advanced search criteria as google. Sometimes it is good to narrow the results to get rid of similarities. In other words, Jeeves seems to believe they can think for you and thus the number of hits gets to be ridiculous and this increases your time spent searching.

However, when using the same criteria for both google and jeeves, jeeves seems to produce many more hits. I don't quite see what all the google uproar is about. I think they are over rated.
