Not only the future, but the now also
Digital 5.1 is fantastic, Digital DTS is even more awesome. The digital coax cable out of the DVD player, or CD, or TV has added a whole new depth of quality to some music, and the movie experience is also better. Recordings such as "Eric Clapton - Live" in digital DTS, or "Yes - Symphonic Live" in digital DTS, among others, are some of the most amazing recordings I've ever heard. I don't even like Brian Johnson as a singer, but "AC/DC - Stiff Upper Lip Live" sounds phenomenal in digital DTS.

And with home amps so cheap now (JVC Mod 6042 - $180) that come with Dolby Digital (5.1 and DTS), and plenty of power (500 Watts), the "theater experience" is affordable at home. I've had alot of home entertainment stuff over the years, but the digital sound is finally living up to the expectations we all had with the CD's that didn't quite deliver.

My latest amp (JVC 6042) is by far the best addition to my home entertainment system ever. Let's hope this is indeed the future.
