Car - bad example
A car would be the worse senario for 5.1 unless there would only be one listener all the time. No one person would be sitting the 'sweet spot.' Even with regular stereo, I adjust the left side lower because thta speaker is closer to me - the driver. When someone is a passenger, it may sound odd because it isn't balanced for their position. I simply can't image how they could setup 5.1 in a car so everyone has the same 'experience.'
