let you reply after so many levels under a topic. Anyway, whether or not the user authorizes or requests those changes is irrelevant, to me. It is the Google application that is making the changes. Should it matter if it happens on your PC or not? I don't know enough about how they're doing it to say it some/all is not happenning on a server prior to being sent to the user. But that should make no difference anyway. I would think some of it has to come from a server for updating purposes. For every web admin out there and many content providers and online info-stores, this is a very big issue. I know it seems almost trivial because it's just a personal change only on your PC and requested by you but, in my opinion, content is being displayed that was not intended to be a part of the page. You, the user are not making these changes and saving off a copy to your HD. Google is making these changes and presenting them to their users. You could be my customer and Google could put in links that may direct you away. On who's authority are they hijacking my pages? That's exactly what they're doing if they add content to my pages that I do not want on them and regardless, if it's to present it to 1 person or 1 million people. That's why I say this really isn't an issue for the end user. From an end users prospective, this is new cool tool. It will be a big issue between sites and Google. Users will just get caught in the middle of it. Can you imagine the first time a major site, such as Chevrolet has a link put on their page to show one of their latest cars is poorly rated, or gets aweful gas mileage, or has very high insurance rates? For you the consumer, it's a great tool. For Chevy, they're suing someone.
